About the Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre took place in 1770, when commoners tortured British troops due to the enforcement of the Townshend Act, five men were killed, and this lead to the Revolutionary War. The Townshend Acts were a new set of taxes. The Townshend Acts, passed by the British Parliament, was meant to raise taxes of the colonies to pay the wages of governors and judges so they would be free of colonies rule. Five commoners were killed. Commoners acted out toward British troops and tormented them, pelting them with objects like snowballs and rocks, because they were angry about the troops enforcing the Townshend Acts, and the British troops killed five of the rioters. The Boston Massacre lead to the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War was a period of conflict when disagreements between colonists and Britain increased due to royal order restricting western expansion and organization of colonial trade and rising taxation on the colonies.
