The Boston tea party's relationship with the intolerable acts
The Boston tea party was very closely related to the Intolerable acts . Actually if the Boston tea party hadn't happened then the intolerable acts would have never come to life . Due to the raid on the tea ships [ most commonly mistaken for British ships ] The first act was made .It was called the Boston Port Acts . This meant that the port was closed until they were able to repay what the destruction was worth this was decided by the king .The Boston tea party happened because the East India Company was going bankrupt but the British government did not want this to happen so they took the duty[tax] off of the tea and some other British controlled goods and they went to the Americas . Since the tea brought to America was tax free the colonists believed it should be sent back to England without tax .Then on December 16 the anger finally welled enough that it formed a retaliation . What happened you may ask some people dressed up as Indians and through all the tea overboard. This angered many people in England and some colonists . The reaction to this was to make a law against any thing like this and was named the Boston Port Act. This was one of five different laws that were named the intolerable acts.
